Kashless Inc.

Available Positions

Community Marketing Manager

We're looking for someone to help support the online activities of all of our members and to drive membership growth as Kashless.org expands nationally. At Kashless, we combine inbound customer service with outbound marketing and promotions. You do both. Listen to customers, help them use the site, discover new features, drive feature requirements with the developers. Also design outbound marketing promotions on-line, physical, volunteer driven, etc. to build awareness of the Kashless.org brand.

Part of this is sort of a customer service type of position, except you have to use your individual analytical skills to come up with creative solutions to problems, and help us improve our applications along the way. Our users will have questions, complaints, requests and ideas...we will get a huge number of emails, forum posts, Facebook messages, blog comments, death threats, love notes and other interactions from our users. If there is ever a problem with something that we make (yeah right) you would be the one responding to emails with a polite apology and an explanation of the problem. Some angry person will email you to ask if they can post some firearms and suicide vests on Kashless.org Are you ready to deal with that hot potato? Yikes.

Also, we're going to need you to be our eyes and ears on the front lines, keeping close tabs on what our users are asking for. We want you to come to us with suggestions for what features we should change to better serve our users. This position will also involve moderating our message boards, approving Facebook friend requests, respond to Twitter DMs, and stuff like that. In addition to multiple virtual persona's you will have plenty of opportunities in meat space to interact with local marketing partners organizing events and generating awareness.

We also want someone with marketing promotion chops. Creativity is key here. Remember the Burgers before Bro's campaign on Facebook? Come up with something better. Ever wear a chicken suit? Think about it. We need creative inexpensive ways to build awareness of kashless.org and get users to join. Bring your ideas.

Requirements:

College degree, preferably in marketing.
2-4 years relevant experience.

You have a positive, customer-focused attitude
You can effectively communicate with users and answer support emails
You are good at spotting community trends and representing the voice of our user community
You are technically experienced enough to be able to troubleshoot problems in real-time and implement solutions
You have lots of experience using sites like Facebook and MySpace, as well as familiarity with norms, slang and etiquette on forums, message boards and blogs
You are passionate about seeing the communities that Kashless creates stay vibrant, interesting, and effective at achieving their goals
You have the ability to work well under multiple, time sensitive situations
You are excited to assist us in establishing and enforcing community standards
You have created and executed marketing promotion programs and can say what worked and what didn't.

Pluses:
Experience in a customer service or community moderation role
A technical understanding deep enough to enable you to help the engineering team troubleshoot problems that arise
You are a snarky and hilarious writer, as it turns out
SEO and SEM experience.

Senior Software Engineer / Ruby on Rails Hacker

Kashless.org is building the leading “ReCommerce” community and platform enabling person to person product reuse, sharing, lending, trade and other “cashless” transactions. By increasing reuse, Kashless.org will divert a significant amount of waste from the landfill and extend the useful life of many products. We're still a relatively small team, meaning very little bureaucracy and micromanagement. We work pretty independently, so independent work and leadership are pluses. The Company is fully funded and led by serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist Martin Tobias.

We’re looking for Ruby on Rails developers with 2+ years of experience. The ideal candidates have 6+ years software development experience, and have seen projects through the complete software life-cycle; from design and development to testing and production deployment (and beyond).

We’ll give you a healthy base compensation with a significant performance bonus. And BIG monitors, flexible hours and full health benefits.

We are really looking for full-time employees, but will consider temp-to-perm or long-term contractors if you’re a close match and willing to work on-site with our team in lower Queen Anne in Seattle, WA.

Please apply through the link below. Filling out the survey will greatly increase your chances of being called in for an interview.
